The Boston Sports Trail

A Sports-Themed Walking Tour of Downtown Boston

Welcome to the Boston Sports Trail, a walking tour of 39 landmarks in downtown Boston connected to the city's sporting past and present. Even on a slow day on the local sports calendar, die-hard Boston fans can still indulge their sporting obsessions by making a pilgrimage to the sites on the Boston Sports Trail. And visitors to Boston can get a taste of the civic obsession with sports that represents Boston's heart and soul.

The landmarks on the Boston Sports Trail include both world-famous sites and hidden jewels. There are museums and statues, stadiums and arenas. Click here for an interactive map of the Boston Sports Trail.

Even in a city as walkable as Boston, it would be quite a workout to visit all the stops on the trail in just one day, so you may want to pick and choose your itinerary. If you want to visit the stops in order, the total distance of the walk is about eleven miles—less than half the distance of the Boston Marathon—and you’re walking, right? So get off that couch and get your blood pumping. And if you still want to be a little lazy and watch some games, you can take a break at one of the city’s numerous sports bars along the way.
